Wine Prosperity

Trademark design

The client – a wine related company – originally called for a stereotypical sketch of a wine bottle and glass with a "modern" font. Yawn. So I decided to explore the possibilities in crossing over "wine" and "prosperity".

The flowing, stepped outlines create a negative space which defines the wine glass, while their own organic, growing feel hint at prosperity. The usage of space forms an unusual mark for a wine company, but one which I think draws attention and greater appreciation. While the font used is sans-serif, its varying line weight within characters lends it some maturity, in keeping with my feelings that wine should have some sense of history behind it.
